最近英語の授業でポエムについて勉強しています。
皆さん「韻」をご存知でしょうか？
韻とは音が似てる単語のことです。
発音が完璧でない私にとっては英語の韻を見分けるのが
とても難しいんです。

韻は何種類かに分けられます。

1: Approximate Rhyme
- Words that do not have exact chiming sounds, but that repeat onli some sounds.
2: Exact Rhyme
- Words that have exact chiming sounds
3: Internal Rhyme
- Ryme inside a line of poem
4: Onomatopoeia
- Words that imitate sounds
5: Alliteration
- The repetition of the same consonant sound in several words.

英語でしか韻のこと説明できないので英語で書きましたが・・
難しい説明は置いておいて、簡単に韻は何か説明しますと、
日本人でも外国人でもラッパーの人達って音が似た単語をよく並べて歌いますよね？
あれが韻です。

上の説明の中の１番と２番の韻の違いの理解に私は今とても苦戦しているんです。
Approximate Rhyme はだいたい音が似てる韻のこと。
Exact Rhymeはほとんど音が同じ韻のこと。

例）
hollow/mellow→Approximate Rhyme

hollow/follow→Exact Rhyme

なんだそうです。
正直、ちょっとう～ん？ってなる話です。

先生によると一文字ぐらいの違いならほとんどExact Rhymeらしいのですが、
シラブル数によって例外などもあるのでやっぱり発音で見極めるしか方法はなさそうです。

明日私はポエムについてのテストがあります。
今日授業中にやった問題に皆さんも挑戦してみてください。
