マックンが母の日のためにお母さんに手紙を書いた。今回その内容を披露するらしい。ちょっと参考になるかもしれないので、お母さんを持っている人は読み続けてください。

M: Dear Mitsuko,
P: You shouldn’t call your mom by her first name
M: Dear Mrs. Yoshida,
P: That’s not what I meant. I mean you should call her what you call her at home
M: Dear おまえ？
P: No.
M: てめえ
P: No!
M: ババア
P: NO! Look, this is a letter in English. Just call her what American’s call their mothers.
M: Dear Nancy,
P: That’s what I call MY mother! I meant all Americans! Just Dear Mom is fine.
ポイント：
＊ 昔から手紙の書き出しは Dear ～～。つまり、「親愛なる～～へ」。
＊ 不思議なことに、親愛にならない人でも Dear ～～。
＊ 時々、適当に送られてくるＤＭで Dear Occupant （親愛なる住居者へ）と始まる手紙もある。
＊ だから、決して親愛ならぬ存在でもある、マックンのお母さんにも使えるんだ。不思議だね。
