続いては日本のアニメがアメリカでブームを巻き起こしていることについての話だ。こういうネタはタイムリーでもあるし、日米コンビの特徴を活かしているから番組側も喜ぶと思って入れたのだ。そう、お客さんが喜ぶかどうかは３だ。

とにかく、今回のくだりはマジで勉強になる。よく読んでください。
P: Stop! But Rinko Kikuchi is a star, so is Ken Watanabe, right? And Japanese anime is very popular, too. There's Dragon Ball, Yugio, Sailor Moon, Puffy Ami Yumi, Pokemon.
M: パキマン？
P: Yeah. Pokemon
M: No, ポケモン
P: Ah, the proper pronunciation.
M: It's short for pocket monster.
P: That's true. Pokemon's original name is Pocket Monster. It's true. Really. True story.
M: They changed the name for America. They thought it could be misused. （変態の演技）"Hey kid, you like Pocket Monster?
P: （子供の演技） “Yeah!”
M: “Put your hand in here. （ポケットを指しながら）That's my pocket monster."
P: Stop! That's disgusting!
M: It's your country.
P: Oh, come on, that's just your imagination.
M: Well, the name Pocket Monster is not a problem in Japan. Japanese men don't have monsters in their pockets ... ... ....we have mobile phones.
ポイント：
＊ ポケットモンスターというと「ポケットに棲んでいるモンスター」ということになる。ズボンのポケットにモンスターがいるとすれば、ずばり「あれ」を指すとしか思わない。それを悪用するやつもいるに違いない。
＊ 勉強になると言ったが、ここで二つのことが学べたでしょう：
其の一：上記の理由でポケットモンスターは英語でPokemonになったのだ。
其の二：アメリカは変態大国だ。
