Before coming back to Maine, I went back to Framingham State to visit my friends for three days. Since many of my friends had already graduated before I did, I didn't have chances to see them much during the last semester.
To see as many people as I possibly could before I leave for Japan, I sent messages and event invitations to my friends on facebook to have some dinner at a local restaurant. Though it was kind of the last minute thought to invite twenty people, I was delighted to see 15 of them show up at dinner.

(One of my best friends is being creepy.)
The reason why I came up with this dinner night was that one of my best friends and I really wanted to see each other before I left for Maine. We figured we could invite other friends as well to this dinner so that we could all have fun together. But this friend that I REALLY wanted to see unfortunately got sick a night before. It was a shame, but I got to talk to her for about an hour after dinner.

(My friend on the right is going to get married next year. His fiance gave me good news yesterday that their wedding date got finally confirmed! I'm looking forward to attending it. Hopefully.)
I made a mistake sitting in exactly between the two tables. It was kind of difficult to talk to everyone at once. So I moved around and got to talk to everyone. This night-out helped me catch up with my friends since the last semester was so hectic that I couldn't really hang out with anyone much.

(The friend on the left gave me a haircut a week before this dinner. Not many people had seen me with shorthair, so they were all surprised(?). I like it though.)

My friend on the right made a toast for me. He told us that he was thinking about it for ten minutes. But he ended up forgetting what he was going to say.
He's five years younger than I, but he and I became best friends. As friends, we of course had ups and downs, but those memories, I would say, made our friendship stronger.
At the end of the dinner, I too made a toast as a conclusion to the night. I really had no plan to make it and wasn't sure about what I was going to say. But as soon as I started talking, I began to remember memories with each of them.
Although I don't remember what I said, all I remember is that I was VERY nervous. Yet, I do know that it was a very meaningful experience.
It's been about two weeks since the last time I saw them. I use facebook and IM to talk to them, but still I miss them so much. I don't know if I could come back right away for grad school in the U.S., but even if I do have to wait for a few years, that'd be fine because I know that there are people I can't wait to see.
