My First Chiropractic Therapy

I went to a chiropractician's office for the first time in my life. I've been subconciously interested in chiropractic therapy, and today I made my first visit there! We can see several offices even in Mito, and I chose one with "a qualified chiropractician here" sign at the entrance. I took a primary treatment for 3600 yen. I was diagonosed that I had spinal deformation, which might have been caused by the traffic accident in 1981. I remember I hurt my left shin then, but I have never imagined I also hurt my neck and back. The chiropractician advised me that I should have a less hectic time today in case side effects occured. I'm feeling fine so far, except I got more sweaty than usual. I'm going to bed now, in case side effects come to me at night...

Whose Homework Is It???

I'm struggling with my 15-year-old daughter's assignments now. Why?? I've been asked to help her with them for three weeks. So I NEED TO study math, social studies, and even science in advance to teach them to her. It's quite impossible to teach what I DON'T know, right?????? I finished her English and math assignments about a couple of days ago, but today she told me that I HAVE TO get all subjects done by tomorrow!!!!!! To tell the truth, I wanted to go to bed early today, but I was woken up by my older daughter and started her social studies assignments. I have just finished them. Hey ma'am, MAY I go to bed or do I have to do your science assignments too? I can't help feeling absurd... You're really INCAPABLE OF studying (due to some mental handicaps)???

Summer Cold?

I've thought that I'm lucky this year to have cool times in my workplace so ofen, but as soon as my summer holidays started, I've become suffering from exhaustion. Yesterday, I was sleepy all day in spite of going to bed early on the day before yesterday. Last night, I got a lot of greasy sweat even though my temperature at daytime was around 36 degrees C. I remember watching a TV news that summer cold was widespread this summer. I'm afraid I catch it...

An Anonymous Critic --- Who Are You? ---

I have my twitter, facebook, and this blog as places to express myself in English. But a shocking incident happened two days ago, which made me become a coward. An anonymous person commented on my Japanese blog about learning English, he/she said that my English was so poor I would have no chance to pass the 1st grade Eiken and was not eligible for teaching either. I assumed he/she was a very sophisticated English speaker, but I couldn't find his/her profile. It seemed unconstructive to me...

Soon after this incident, I signed up for Lang-8 and started writing English entries there first. Lang-8 is an online space for correcting foreign language writings with each other. I had most of this entry corrected by an American, and posted here!!

My Stress Relief

When I feel stressful and want to become more positive, I go have my hair cut. Changing my hairstyle can change my way of thinking, sometimes as drastically as if I were reborn. I had my latest haircut last Tuesday, and I've become so calm ever since. I'm so glad that I took a picture of myself!!!

A Farewell to Corys

Broze corys originally live in South America, but their hometown is not as hot as we imagine. They prefer cool water, and get ill in hot water over 30 degrees C. We should keep their tank water cool at least under 28 degreec C, for example we air-condition the room where we set our cory tank(s) all day or set an aquarium chiller at each tank to cool tank water. But...I can't air-condition the tank place(s) all day nor get a chiller for them. So, I brought my young corys to my favorite fish shop and asked the owner to adopt them. Maybe I will take my adult corys there tomorrow. Thank you so much for giving me happy times, and live happily with the new owners!!!

Finally, At Last...

I've started my preparation for the 1st grade Eiken. To tell the truth, I attempted to study for it once in 2005. At that time I bought this book. I had hard times in my study of English those days because I couldn't get a better score on TOEIC test however hard I studied. I got the book above wishing that I might improve my TOEIC test score by prepareing for the 1st grade Eiken. But the study with it didn't work, it was difficult enough to discourage me. I subcousciously quit my first preparation for Eiken, and concentrated on TOEIC test and scored 760 in November. I was sad at the result for I scored 765 in autumn of 2004; my score dropped nevertheless I studied hard for it. Now I've started my challenge to the 1st grade Eiken since last Friday, this time I will never back down. I've resolved that I concentrate on Eiken never taking TOEIC tests until I obtain it. My latest (and the hightest) TOEIC score is 800, which I think is pretty low for challenging the 1st grade test. Still...I challenge it!! This is one of my resolution of this year, a promise amomg my past students, and...I wonder I promise my current students I will take my first try or not.

I Can't Make CDs with iTunes!!!

Today I was trying to make some CDs with iTunes, I saw error message alarts very often. At last I gave up making them with iTunes, I used Roxio's CD maker instead. I used it at the interval of five years; I feel that time has passed. But burning sound files on CDs is a little out of date but safe way for collecting music and audio clip.

My Laptop Broken??

I wanted to get some sets of previous 4th grade Eiken test so I tried to log onto the net, but I was blocked again and again!!! I thought my laptop is not available any more... It is Windows Vista launched in 2007, and I've had it repaired a couple of times so far, it's natural if it's completely broken. I brought my laptop to a computer shop with PC mechanics and had it checked. The mechanic looked it through and said, "Your laptop is all right EXCEPT the keybord D." Oh, oh....only one keyboard influences a lot... Due to the broked keybord D, even my correct password was blocked!! The mechanic recommend me to get an external keyboard. I bought a cheap one, 'cause I'm not going to use my current laptop for so long. I want to get a Windouws 7 PC for me someday.

My Son's Email Address

Yesterday my son said "I want to have my OWN email address." I helped him create his account on Google first, but it was not accepted. I tried on Yahoo Japan next, it worked. After creating my son's accout, I thoght I must customize my laptop and make it more handy for him to browze or check his emails. I uninstalled Google toolbar which I was very used to, and installed Yahoo toolbar instead. I taught my son how to bookmark websites he liked and how to check the emails sent to him over Yahoo toolbar. . He looked exciting. I got stunned to see no emails sent to my Yahoo account, I needed to recieve emails to me via another software. I finally decided to receive them via MS Outlook. At first I didn't know that we needed to log in portal sites and change email settings for us to receive web mails via email software. I found that while reading FAQ pages of email settings and changed most of my email settings. Now I finished customizing my laptop to become more handy for both my children and me!!

For St.Valentine's Day and coming White Daｙ

I changed the design of my Japanese blog. I chose a chocolate photo for sweet February and March having St. Valentine's Day and White day. St.Valentine's "festival" is over. My daughters really enjoyed exchanging chocolates made by themselves. The next month we have "White Day" in Japan. Will they exchange chocolates and goodies among their friends too?

I mainly write in my English diary on Twitter now. I've started it since last August. I wrote my 500th entry on January 27th. It said: I haven't updated my English blog in EigoTown for so long... ---and mumbled why I didn't write in this blog often. That's because I can't edit my links or change the design by myself. I really LOVE customizing my web sites and blogs!! But I decided not to abandon this blog. I've quit hesitatig my poor compositions; even though I can't write a constructive essay now, it's clear that writing English as often as possible is important. I'll change the icon and background of my Twitter in the near future... Twitter is one thing, this blog is quite another!!!

My First TOEIC SW Test

I took my first TOEIC Speaking and Writing Test for the first time yesterday. I bought the exercise book for that test last month, but I started to do it from January 1st. It was full of extremely tough exercises, especially in speaking section, I got a kind of depressed after doing a couple of exercises. I'm not sure how well I did on the actual test, but I did the best I could.
