Looking around and I just noticed I am the only Asian here…as long as my eyes can reach. I saw some Japanese tourists in the airplane…but not here at the waiting lounge…for Merida. This trip is very different from the one I usually organize…I do not know much about the city I will stay, nor I even do not have an address of the hotel. I know I can just catch a taxi or something to get to the airport…and hoping it will not cost more than $50US from the airport to the hotel. I know there is an Americn/English library and they provide free Spanish language programs every Monday, in exchange for English tutor…I might just try it out….this Monday by myself. I googled and found out that there is a Wal-Mart supercenter and a Japanese sushi restaurant. Sushi is not particularly something I want to eat, but I might try some Japanese dish there one night.

It is 3:43 in Dallas, and 2:43 in Mexico City. Yes, I am in Mexico city. Immigration and custom was…sort of easy…no problem …and my back was just checked. Yes, my suitcases did not come to Mexico City…but I was told that these bags are going straight to Merida. I went through customs and immigration, but no bags….wired. When my bags did not show up in the conveyor, I was a bit sad, and wondering what to do…as there was absolutely nobody who looked helpful around me, nor no American Airlines agents…nor AA desk….anyway after checking with at least 5 people, I was finally convinced that my bags are going to Merida not here.

The flight was just fine…I had a cheese burger for lunch, and a cup of tea. The flight attendant was just okay, but I will give him D+ or C-…just he was not into his job…but sort of tired of doing what he was supposed to do.

The other thing was…I had absolutely no money with me. I was planning to go to the bank in the morning, or get some cash at DFW…hoplely at the Bank of America ATM…and totally forgot. Well, thanks to my debit card, I could withdraw Mexican Peso, which is 8th currency this month, and there is 500 peso in my wallet…which should be around $50 in US.

November 1, 2008

I am on my way to Mexico city from Dallas. This is my very first visit to Mexico, and I should be very excited…but not really….with no reason. Good thing is…I am in the business class. Yes, almost all of short distance flight by American makes me enjoy the business class. I just ordered a good cup of tea in the real cup, not a plastic one. There should be a lunch provided in a few minutes, which will not be the case in the economy class.

Looking down from the airplane, there are millions of the houses…all look the same. Life is funny sometimes, people are struggling to make ends meet so that they can keep those tiny space or their belongings…and I am one of them.

After coming back from this intensive Asian trip, I was just feeling so weak. I was not sick, nor I was not feeling bad…just I felt so weak. It should come from the tiredness and jet-lags my body had to suck in. It has passed 7 days, but still my body is not functioning as it should be.

Writing policies for several university activities are not as stressful as it sounds, but it takes a lot of research and understanding from various cases in numerous universities. July 11, 2008

I am so full after eating a lot of stuff at Furr's, all-you-can-eat buffet. Antonela, Hana, Darin and I enjoyed a lot of foods there...and yes it is clear that I am getting sleepy now...not good. I am drinking Dr. Pepper...as if this will help me some. Before moving to the US, finishing a can of coke was almost as difficult as eating up a large steak. Now, after living here for 5 years, both of eating and drinking tasks are as easy as drinking a glass of water. This should be carefully watched, as this eating habits can kill people...really. When we were at the restaurant for lunch, there were HUGE people...they should weight almost 200KG or 400LB...whatever it is, they are not large...but HUGE.]]>

July 9, 2008

Hana woke up at 3am. She was sound asleep by then and did not go back to sleep. Antonela was trying to put her back to sleep, but ended unsuccessful after hours of effort.

We got a new phone! Antonela got a Razor and I got Orange G3...by Sumsung. Both of them are sharp looking and we like them. We had been using the oldest phone you can get, and they made me feel like as if we could catch up with the 21st century...finally. Transferring the phone numbers can be very annoying, but can be done in a few days.

July 10, 2008

Again Hana woke up again at 3 or 4am...I do not remember exactly when....and do not remember when we fell asleep again...but we woke up at 7:30am, and I jumped into the shower.

We had a quiet, but nice weekend. Marina has gone to Miami and will be there for next three weeks. Antonela and I found a sofa we want in Fayetteville, and Hana is walking and walking all day in the house. It seems she knows her room, and likes it. She goes there and play with toys, grab her favorite toys and bring them to us in the living room. Antonela is feeling sick from the pregnancy, though. Hana is having the 2nd and the 3rd teeth at the same time in the upper side. I called my mom on Sunday and told her that Antonela is pregnant. She seems to be very happy, so does my father. I mowed the front yard, and pulled a lot of weed on Sunday. We are going to have new phones and will receive something from my mom. last week was very stressful, but this weeks is going to be a good one.

July 3, 2008

I have not been able to write things for this for a long time. Indeed I have a lot of things I want to upload and you will see my blog...almost everyday...from today!

One day before the 4th of July, it has been very quiet in my office. I have sent out I20 to Bunkyo and the proof of Insurance for Micheal at UA. I have sent a lot of e-mails to our partners in foreign countries. It looks like as if I have been very productive, but nothing made me feel so for no reasons.

Hana and we went to see a doctor yesterday. Antonela called right after I came back from lunch. Hana was crying crazy and she sounded like she was in a great pain. Of course she was just fine I came home and even showed a big smile. Well, just in case...we went to see a doctor and we found out that she got ear infections...which I do not know what...really. It sounded like itchy to me, and the Doctor Hannah was telling both of us that this is not a big deal at all. She prescribed the anti-biotic, and got it at Sam's club.

It has been very hot. It is so hot that our Yoshino Cherry tree could almost die out from the heat. The tree looks very bad, but I have been giving an intensive care for the last 7 days, and I am pretty sure that he will be fine with a lot of flowers next spring.]]>

        Yeah---Sunday!
Sunday morning!
I am having a morning large cup of milk tea,
reading papers, and watching CBS morning news.
This moment is so peaceful, and I can enjoy every minute of it.
Weather outside...does not seem so good as it was yesterday.
We might have shower in the afternoon....
I guess I should finish mowing my front and backyard before the rain.
I just need to go to Wal-Mart and buy fertilizes and weed killers.

We had more than 40 people at one time for Hinamaturi last Saturday. It was too many, but it went very well over all. I stayed in the kitchen and served for everybody.

We went to DC last week. I was in the conference, and Hana and Antonela enjoyed the Zoo and Aquarium. We all went to Natural History Museum, and we all had a lot of fun there. DC seems to ve very nice city, only funny thing I found was there were too many sandwich subs, and people do not sit and enjoy their lunch. Everyhting has to be "to go."

Hana is getting bigger. She started enjoying books, pointing at things in the hooks, and speaking about them. Antonela just called and told me that she finally started crawling forward...Yes, she could only go backward for a long time. This is a great news.]]>
